Elijah

Elijah is our little troublemaker!  He goes straight to the most dangerous spot in the house or outside as quickly as possible.  He loves getting into the bathroom and playing in the toilet....so we have to keep the door closed at all times.  He also goes straight for the steps so we have keep the gate up at all times.  His other favorite thing to do is play with dada's stereo by pulling all the knobs off.  When we go outside he crawls as fast as he can down the sidewalk.  He is also just figuring out how to walk.  Once he is steady on his feet we're going to be in for even more trouble I think.

Amund

My little Amundito.  He is our happy snuggly boy.  He loves being outside and eating fruit.  Especially juicy fruit like this "juicy apple."

 Helipopter!
I call him my little snuggle factory because he loves to sit with us and give us lots of hugs and snuggles.
We're so happy that you're our little BIG boy.

Islwyn

Since when did my little baby Islwyn get to be so grown-up.  He is always busy taking notes, writing stories, and giving other members of the family examinations of various things.  He keeps copious notes of these exams....

We love to see how you have grown so much and how your reading and writing have just taken off this year.

Mount Rushmore

Islwyn and Amund got to fulfill a lifelong dream this summer and visit Mount Rushmore.  We camped for the first time.  Still not sure how into camping I am .....

There was mini-golf at the campsite and Amund had to play multiple times a day.
Elijah's private tent.  He liked napping in the shade in his tent.  Or just playing I guess....
Our gigantic tent that friends let us borrow.

Oh, here is Amund at the top of the arch in St. Louis.  When he got up there he asked where the giant white rainbow was.  He didn't realize he was inside of it!

On our way back to Indiana we stopped for a couple of days in Kansas to see Jonathan's grandparents.  The boys were really into the Insect Zoo at Kansas State.  Here is a picture of them with their great-grandma.
Mmmm, Amund got "Purple Pride" ice cream at the ice cream shop on campus.
 With Willy.

Catching Up

I haven't been super great about posting stuff lately.  So I wanted to catch up.
One day Jonathan took Islwyn and Amund to the zoo.  I guess they really liked the turtle.
Here's Elijah showing off his cool new shirt some special friends made for him.
All the boys in bed together one night.  Hmmmm.
Amund really likes going to this grocery store with me because he gets to push the cart around himself.  He is such a good helper.
We never thought this day would come!  That Islwyn would ride his bike.  He rides it all the time now.
And the whole reason I had kids--so they could do the house work!! Just kidding.  But Amund likes to mop and Islwyn likes to vacuum.

We got to go on a little retreat to Estes Park this week.  We stayed at the Y there and had so much fun.

Jonathan was leading the service.  And Islwyn had to sit in the front row.
Amund riding his bike around Estes Park.
And the Y has a roller skating rink so we took the kids skating for the first time.

 Elk!
And we spent one whole morning in the craft room making necklaces and painting.

Easter

We had a fun Easter Egg Hunt at church.  The boys were up at 5 am wondering if the Easter Bunny had come to our house.  Then we got ready for church at 7.

I had to take some new pictures of the big boy Elijah who is 6 months old already.  I can't believe it.  He is over 16 pounds.  Not bad --gaining 10 pounds in his first 6 months.

Working on rolling back and forth I guess.

Railroad Museum

We decided to do a little sightseeing on Jonathan's day off this week.  We went to Golden and visited the Railway Museum there.  They have a whole yard full of old train cars.  And also a really cool model train that the kids were able to watch run.  Here is Islwyn by the snow plow blade on a train car.

 Amund and the caboose.

I sewed Amund a new winter coat.  Islwyn had to pose with him for the picture though.  It is corduroy on the inside.  Totally reversible with pockets on both sides.

Pirate Amund!
